Similar to mine only thing that put me off a black box was you can not see into the box and it would be a eyesore to see in the dining room. If you have place to put it out of the eye or simply don't care this would be a perfect idea for a biltong box.
This is a really nice one only this being wood you have chance of it becoming a health risk with old blood getting into the wood. Really nicely made and sanded to a great finish.
Now this guy got it right but he could make enough for selling to others if he wanted. A steel cabinet or even an old computer server storage box would work great and it is washable.
WOW! is all I can say below. If you have the time and skills to craft with perspex this is the way to go.
For the pure joy of eating biltong now and then use a box. You could even dispose of the box with ease after getting your fill of tong. BEWARE as it is a fire risk.

I hope this has got idea's running around in your head. You are not confined to one idea when it comes to making biltong everybody does it differently and as long as you stick to a few simple rules there is not much that can go wrong.
